Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. After her parents' divorce her parents separated, she moved to Worthington in Ohio and moved at Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first part as Rachel's Room's title character the web-based video series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002 she was nominated to receive an Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the lead actor in Lost for its first two seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with all the cast. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. The actress was as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day adaptation from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost, including the finale. In 2013, she appears in Californianation, the 6th season. She portrays Faith as a groupie and also a model for the stars. Being part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the daughter and older sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in the films of her father in his adolescent years. With her brother, she appeared in Donnie Darko (2000). The year 2002 saw her starred as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romance comedy Secretary (2002) and in the drama Sherrybaby (2006) each of which brought her an Golden Globe Award nomination. She starred in a number of commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). In recognition of her role as an unmarried mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Following that, she went on to appear in comedy films and dramas like Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (12). Other roles she has played include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in the film Frank (2014) and the title role in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a director and writer in 2021 with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
